Panayiotis Tsokas was born in 1967 in the city of Elefsina in Greece
He was involved in painting from a very young age as he participated in group exhibitions at the age of 12. After his twenties, he was involved in hagiography at first out of curiosity in order to learn the technique of this art and later decided to work professionally because he was amazed by the beauty of art.
G. Barounis was his teacher for only four months in a gallery at Kolonaki and taught him the basic steps in hagiography, before leaving due to professional obligations.
From then on he tried and achieved to learn the many secrets of the hagiography’s art by himself. He has participated in many individual and group exhibitions throughout Greece.
Over 7000 icons have adorned Churches, Monasteries and residences not only in Greece but also all over the world since 1990.
